DELCIOUS NEW FIGURES! (Also, HLJ =/)

(source)

I AM SO FUCKING EXCITED, YOU HAVE NO IDEA.

Even though they’re Alter figures and I declared war on Alter a few weeks back, I’m definitely going to get them when they come out. I think the page says that they release on August 12th…? Could anyone that knows moonspeak confirm this for me?

Another figure I’m going to have to ruin my samurai honor over is…

TSURUYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

She’s also Alter, but man, I can’t resist the Ilyamilf OR Tsuruya, even though Tsuruya is fucking 6,090 yen, which is damned expensive for a measly 1/8. Oh, Alter, I hate you so much; you don’t DESERVE to release figures of awesome characters like Ilyamilf and Tsuruya.

In other news, it’s been three or four days since I placed my order at HLJ (for Rin) and I’m going crazy. I just can’t stand this waiting. Seriously, if you are patient enough to not lose your mind during the massive wait that is HLJ’s order process, you are a better man than me. They’re still only processing my order. After they send me a payment request, it’ll be another few days before Rin ships out. Thank Rider that I didn’t select SAL shipping, because it would be another four or five weeks after she shipped before I saw her sweet sweet PVC face. ;_;

If you work for HLJ and are reading this: I have nothing against you, and I have never been treated with anything but the utmost respect by you. But I’m just never going to order from HLJ unless I absolutely have to because the ordering process kills me every single time. In the last day or two, auctions for meido Rin have been popping up, and if I don’t hear from HLJ sometime in the next few days, I’m outright canceling my order and ordering her off eBay. At least I’ve got options.

Also, I’m debating about how I should go about watching and blogging about anime. I’d originally planned to do episode summaries after each episode of a show and then do quarterly reviews on the show including my opinions and theories regarding what could happen next (for example, in a 12 episode series, a blog for episodes 1 – 3, a blog for episodes 4 -6, a blog for episodes 7 – 9, and a blog for episodes 10 – 12).

The thing is, I hate doing episode summaries. It really sucks the fun out of watching a show for me, because I feel like I’ve got to be taking screenshots and taking notes throughout the episode, otherwise I forget things. Sure, I could watch the episode more than once, but I just don’t want to. And really, that’s the same reason I’m hesitant to write only quarterly reviews because remembering details would be a pain in the ass for me. I just want to do one kind of blog or the other.

So, I’m asking my audience for halps. What’re your thoughts? Advice is appreciated muchly, seriously.

And in the meantime, I’m just not going to blog about animu muchly. Sorry guys. ;_;

    Unfortunately according to Alter’s website it looks like the Milfilya and Saber figures are only going to be available at Wonderfest, which is on the 12th of August. I hope they do a mass market release too, I want them.

    HLJ are slow as fuck, but have good prices, are very reliable, and generally have reasonable customer service. The trick is to preorder heaps of shit from them and get it shipped SAL. Then boxes turn up on your doorstep every few days (EMS is expensive and here I find that they always fucking deliver at 2pm when no one is home and then card it and take it to the worst post office in the city to get to and it takes me 2-3 weeks to get there to pick the damn package up) and it’s like Christmas every week because you forget what you’ve ordered. Also generally SAL is *exactly* 12 days for me. Then again that’s from Japan to Melbourne, Australia.

    I haven’t seen that Tsuruya anywhere before, but I’m sure it will sneak onto my prodigious preorders list at some stage too. :( If my wallet was alive, it would scream whenever I read HLJ’s RSS feed. Just better not release in August or September.

    Yer that is the WanFesu special limited to 2500 pieces only, you gonna need some special friends to be able to get them.

    Wasn’t that order processing delay due to a japanese holiday? I received an order requet from them at the beginning of last week, like Tuesday or something. I paid on wednesday and didn’t hear anything from them until today. This is actually the first time that my orders got that delayed…

    …All this talk of figures…

    I need some delicious PVC lovin’… ;w; That’s it. I’m asking my parents for delicious Maid Saber- or atleast something.

    Yeah, there was a Japanese holiday on Monday. I’m still waiting on a payment request from them myself. Eh, sometimes they slow, sometimes they really slow.
    That Tsuruya figure is unbelievably cute! It would seem Alter is bustin yer chops with that release :p
    Episode reviews. Quarterly summaries. Animu…
    Just do whatever is easiest. Yup, that’s my advice ^^;

    @Negs: Aw, man. :( I hope we can find them on Ebay or something, or like the commenter below you said, maybe we can find special friends. Blah.

    If SAL was only 12 days for me, I’d definitely go for it, but it’s more like 30 days for me (which is absolutely beyond my threshold of patience). Also, that’s funny, because EMS always seems to deliver about 2PM here as well. Luckily, my dad works from home so he always answers the door. But, yeah, you know, if I can find myself a job, I really just might do what you suggested with the ordering heaps of shit kinda thing.

    Personally, I hope Tsuruya releases in early November, since it’s before Christmas but after Anime Weekend Atlanta. *___*

    @alafista: I WANT SPECIAL FRIENDS. ;_;

    @David: yyyyyeaaaaah, there was a Japanese holiday. But my HLJ orders are always delayed so I kinda expected it.

    @Fuhrer ML: Dude, go for it!

    @aka_ugly: Yeah, I think Alter is one of the conspiracies they’re always going on about in NHK ni Youkoso, personally. Haha, alright, yeah, well, the quarterly kinda thing is easier for me, so I’ll probably just stick with that for the most part. ~

    Well, you can be sure that there will be more Fate/zero stuff and will be a better size.

    If you do quarterly, you can cut out having to do screen caps since it’s less of a blow by blow summary and more of a thoughts/theories type of thing. But, the challenge there is coming up with something interesting. Episode summaries kind of write themselves.

    I’d say go for whatever you’re more happy doing, once it stops being fun, the blog stops as well. I see you’ve taken to doing episodic for Claymore, and it looks like you enjoyed that ^^

    Maybe just kinda mix and match for whichever really grabs your interest at whichever point you’re at. ;)

    Well, 2,500 of those limited Fate/Zero figures are going to be released to the general outlet stores (online stores and such). So you might have a chance to get some if HobbySearch and HLJ get them although they might sell out real quick. The other 2,500 is going to be for the WanFesu.

    For the summaries just go with whichever way that won’t ruin the series for you. If you enjoyed the way you did it with the other ones thatn you should keep doing it like that. If not maybe try and find a easier way or maybe doing it less? It’s up to you :)

  10. 10 NegativeZero July 21, 2007 at 5:09 pm

    Personally, I’ve tried doing episode summaries myself and generally I can’t keep it up. Plus, everyone does episode summaries. I prefer to write longer pieces periodically.

    But then, evidence suggests no one actually reads my long-winded rants and most of the traffic PBB gets is spam bots or people looking for traces.

    Anyway, just write whatever the heck you feel like writing, IMO.
