Actually, it’s closer to 1500 right now, but bah, whatever.
IN CELEBRATION OF THIS MOMENTOUS EVENT! …. Yeah, I’m just going to post a Lucky Star vector trace I did ages ago. The funny thing is, I tried to start another one today, and I can’t get Adobe Illustrator to work for the LIFE of me. SHITSUX. Also, don’t hate on it too much, since this is my first trace evar.
But, here you are~!
There’s a lot of nitpicky things I could go on about forever (like the sizing, geez, I fucked that up), but I won’t. :3
Congratufuckinglations! :D
omg how did you do that?
the picture looks amazing…
Congrats. And keep it up~
For a first effort this is really good. Far better than my first one, that’s for sure.
More vector trace go!
How long do they take to do? Like is it something you can crank out in one night or is it more time consuming than that?
Yay congrats^^
Keep up the good work =) The tracing looks good to me.
@aka_ugly: Haha, thanks! >w<
@§oL: I just enlarged a screenshot, traced over it, and then colored it–nothing too special, but I’m glad that you think so! :3
@TheBigN: Will do!
@NegativeZero: ;W; Awesome, thanks!
@super rats: Hmmm… I think this one took about a day (~5 hours). So really, it could definitely be done in one night. :3
@David: Thanksu~~!
I envy you…you should see my first vector attempt…I keep it on my laptop at all times to remind me how bad I am. I guess its karma for having ripped adobe off of $1,000.
@super rats: generally the amount of time a trace takes to do depends on the technique you use, and the complexity of the image. If you use simple stroked outlines for the lines, then you can do them in 2-3 hours once you get good. If you manually do every line as a shape, the linework alone can take 5+ hours. I’ve been doing them for years and they still set me back 8-10 hours total.
I can see how it would take a long time to do this. Really, I just wouldn’t have the patience to ever do something like this, which is why I’m glad there are people who do it.
hey, can u give me some advice lol…
for ur trace, how do you do the rosy cheek effect?
heehee…
@§oL: Really, I just took the airbrush tool, tiddled around with the opacity a bit, and then just airbrushed once lightly on each cheek. >w< As for the little shiny spots on the cheeks, I essentially did the same thing, just with a lighter color and slightly higher opacity.
oh its that simple?
lol, i was playing with the gradient tool, can’t make it work…
;__; Good luck, seriously. I don’t know what you’re using to color the trace, but I personally used Paint Shop Pro 7. I really dislike Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, and coloring was difficult for me to figure out so I just said, “FUCK IT.” and didn’t even bother, haha.
woo congrats!
paintshop pro?! damn…maybe I should give up on trying to learn adobe products. harder to learn than fucking calculus
