Ahhh, stereotypes.

Oh god, it’s so true. No idea who did this, lol, just that oniichan found it on /a/.

“Batshit insane bisexual lolicon.” …*hangs head in shame*. This time, I lose.

And coming sometime in the next few days: Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai 1 – 5 impressions.

    “Batshit insane bisexual lolicon” Gao…

If I may ask, in what way do they mean “batshit insane”?

  2. 2 Marmot August 7, 2007 at 1:07 am

Well, I’m guessing batshit insane means… batshit insane. I guess… someone who’s just fucking psycho.

  3. 3 NegativeZero August 7, 2007 at 1:34 am

You know, I think all of these could be applied to male anime fans with only a few minor tweaks.

  4. 5 Nagi August 7, 2007 at 2:29 am

I dunno, there’d definitely need to be an “elitist snob” category in there if we were doing male fans.

  5. 6 Marmot August 7, 2007 at 2:32 am

    1) Replace FYG with elitist snob.
    2) ??????
    3) PROFIT! >w<

  6. 7 Nekonron August 7, 2007 at 3:40 am

lol yeah it would be cool to see a male version of this.

  7. 8 lord_jagganath August 7, 2007 at 6:22 am

how abou the fat yuri fanboy?

  8. 9 Marmot August 7, 2007 at 6:23 am

While fat yuri fanboys definitely exist, I wouldn’t consider them such a stereotype considering their lack of prevalence in the animu community.

  9. 11 Zeroblade August 7, 2007 at 9:07 am

    Fat LoliYuri fanboy :O

  10. 12 TheBigN August 7, 2007 at 2:41 pm

I would assume that most male yuri fans don’t express their love as visibly as “FYGs” do, but then again, I don’t know. And there’s shame in being who you are, Marmot. :P

  11. 13 Marmot August 7, 2007 at 4:16 pm

    @Negs: Yeah!

    @Zeroblade: Even better! :D

@TheBigN: Oh, don’t get me wrong, I don’t think there’s any shame in being who I am, just shame that I can largely conform to a stereotype. And to set the record straight, I’m not really a lolicon. I can’t appreciate the delicious flatchest sry2say. :(:(:(

  12. 14 alafista August 7, 2007 at 4:40 pm

    Batshit insane bisexual lolicon LULZ

    What about male stereotypes?

  13. 15 Rogie August 7, 2007 at 4:58 pm

Oh, I luv yuri^_^ I treasure lots of touching recollections from last summer when I watched Strawberry Panic, ogled Nagisa, rooted for Hikari&Amane and contemplated if I should cheer for Shizuma or Tamao to hook up with Nagisa-chan.

    I’m not fat or nerd-looking though^_^

(under the expression ‘nerd-looking’ I imagine a person of either porky or gaunt body figure, flabby muscles, disheveled appereance, unhealthy skin due to particurarly devastating regimen, greasy hair, dirty, creased&obsolete baggy clothing etc.)

  14. 16 Marmot August 7, 2007 at 5:04 pm

@alafista: No idea. I should track down the person/people who made the image and harass them to make one for males.

We could help ‘em out by thinking up some categories of our own, though! And who knows, if we can’t find the original artist, maybe I’ll mosey on into MSPaint and throw something together. :3

@Rogie: I loves me sum yuri too. YURITARDS UNITE. Oh but I am nerd-looking, rah!

  15. 17 manga August 7, 2007 at 9:25 pm

Oh my God, worst I´ve ever seen. Not even funny :(

for games/anime ok I can accept it, but for fans? Never.

  16. 18 Marmot August 7, 2007 at 9:27 pm

    Care to elaborate, manga?

  17. 19 NegativeZero August 8, 2007 at 3:01 am

@Rogie: I loved Strawberry Panic too. Right up until they pulled a complete 180 and turned the last episode into the plot equivalent of a head-on high-speed collision between two trains loaded with orphans, outside an abortion clinic.

    Not bitter or anything. :(

  18. 20 TheBigN August 8, 2007 at 12:19 pm

I need to watch Strawberry Panic, if just for the pandering. :P

  19. 21 super rats August 8, 2007 at 3:10 pm

My best friend in high school was the Irritating White Japanophile. He used to get so upset whenever I’d call Japanese cartoons “pornime”. He was probably the reason I never watched the stuff in high school.

  20. 22 manga August 8, 2007 at 3:50 pm

    Why not.
Since anime/games have their structures and a little depending on what kind of anime/game you´re watching/playing you tend to get stereotypes. Like for RPGs you usally play as the hero with some kind of tragic past/hidden power that is revealed later in the game.
Love intrest of hero usually is a girl, who is really good at healing magic.

For anime, with example like Shuffle we have the childhood friend(Kaede), the big busted girl(Nerine), tomboyish friend(Asa), loli(Primula) and for Sia I actually don´t have any term.

This is laughable, but when it comes to real people, standards like this doesn´t exist. Since everywhere there are people with different thoughts, likes, attitudes, apperances and we all know the rest, every human is individual in one way or another, which makes it kinda hard to slump people together…

    atleast for me.

  21. 23 Marmot August 9, 2007 at 1:50 am

@super rats: Oh GOD, every anime fan in high school was a fucking Irritating White Japanophile. In fact, most of them had some combination of three or four stereotypes. Ugh.

@manga: I like you, so I hate to be mean, but stereotypes exist for a reason. For example, the reason there are stereotypes in eroge is because those same kinds of girls (childhood friend, loli, tsundere, etc.) keep showing up AGAIN AND AGAIN in different games. When something becomes commonplace in a demographic, stereotypes are formed. In this same way, the same types of fans keep showing up again and again in real life. I’ve personally come across every single stereotype in the image above (except for batshit insane bisexual lolicon, unless you want me to count myself).

  22. 24 Nyx August 9, 2007 at 3:40 am

Lmao! I’m actually not sure where I fall. I’m a yaoi fan but I also like a lot of other stuff (including things like yuri, loli, etc). I don’t really relate to the others so I guess I’m stuck with fat yaoi fangirl lol! I fail worse D:

  23. 25 NegativeZero August 9, 2007 at 11:11 am

    @manga

They’re not stereotypes, they’re archetypes. One day I must get around to writing a bloody long essay that no one will read on the use of archetypes in anime. I find the concept quite fascinating, to be honest.

  24. 26 manga August 9, 2007 at 12:24 pm

@ Marmot: I don´t see how that is mean?
Everything has a reason behind it.

But even so, takes into the stereotypes mentioned, if there was a male version I think I would fit into them all… and thus, making it quite stupid to point out single ones.

And yes, same kind of people pop up and when taking into consideration how many there are well… it could be said that they are within a certain group of people. But I still dislike the idea of grouping people together, but alas that is how I see the world around me. Atleast for this topic :p

@ NegativeZero: Still haven´t learned all the english words and their meaning so I´m mixing some of them up.

And that topic would be intresting, and maybe a little thing about how easy it is to misstake one for the other?

  25. 27 Fuhrer ML August 10, 2007 at 9:09 am

Good lord, those are spot on. I fukken lol’d hard.

I guess I’d fall under “Batshit insane bisexual lolicon”, just for sake of lack of other relation to the others.

  26. 28 Marmot August 10, 2007 at 9:13 am

@FuhrerML: JESUS ML YOU FUCKING WHORE GET ON AIM

    @Nyx: Nawwwww!!!! You’re not an FYG at all! Don’t even joke about associating with them, because you’re cool. ;__;

  27. 29 Hinano August 10, 2007 at 8:29 pm

Hey nothing wrong with being an artist…if you’re making good money of the above mentioned stereotypes :P

  28. 30 Totali August 10, 2007 at 9:35 pm
